You will learn the basics of kayaking–equipment, kayak entry/exit, strokes, safety, water, and wind. The class is setup to be hands on–we'll talk you through each new skill and help you learn by doing! In this way you'll better learn the necessary gear for a day on the water, key strokes you'll use to go forward, reverse, and turn, and a few important safety concerns while paddling lakes, rivers, and the ocean. By the end of the class you will feel more comfortable on the water, understand safety risks around you, and have more fun kayaking.
