Never tried rock climbing before? Curious? Perhaps you’ve climbed a few times in a gym and want to try the real thing?  This class is a great opportunity to get exposure to outdoor rock climbing in a safe, supportive, fun environment. You professional and certified climbing guides take care of setting up the ropes and providing a safe, supportive environment for the beginning rock climber. No climbing experience is necessary. In this class, providing you with your first outdoor climbing experience is the goal! Additionally, we’ll share the sense of adventure that drives our guides’ passion for the sport, and provide you with the most enjoyable first day of climbing possible. We’ll begin with an introduction to climbing gear, climbing commands, and climber tie-in knots. Then we’ll spend the remainder of our time climbing.  All your climbing gear will be provided.
Your packing list:  Flexible and comfortable clothing appropriate for the outdoors and weather (extra layers for the elevation), stable closed toed footwear for a short hike. Snack, water, and daypack to carry your personal items to the climbing area.

The climbing area is located at the top of the mountain adjacent to Needles Lodge at an elevation of 8,710 feet.
